How to Link Twitter to LinkedIn

Thanks to Hans Mestrum and Mischa Coster today I found out how to link Twitter to Linkedin. The blog was in Dutch and @ITworks suggested to translate. Hereby the translation in English:

A way to automatically send your tweets to LinkedIn as status updates.

How to link Twitter and LinkedIn:

  1. Sign up for Ping.fm

  2. Add LinkedIn as service and get ’status updates’ ON

  3. Sign up for twitterfeed.com
Click on ‘my feeds’ and add a new feed (‘Create new feed’)

  4. Choose ‘Ping.fm’ feed from the menu

  5. You need a ping.fm ‘application key’ to send data. Click on ‘You Ping.fm Application Key’. You find the key on the ping.fm page. Click the key and copy

  6. Paste in twitterfeed window

  7. Click on 'get available methods' and choose 'status'

  8. Go to twitter profilepage, e.g. http://www.twitter.com/vanpopta

  9. Click with right mousebutton on RSS icon and copy link

  10. Go back to twitterfeed and paste link in field ‘RSS Feed URL’

  11. Change the frequency to 30 minutes and choose 5 updates

  12. Choose 'title only' at 'Include'

  13. Mark ‘Include item link’ OFF

  14. Leave the rest on default and click 'Create’ button

It's not realtime, once in 30 minutes is the maximum!
