Thanks to Hans Mestrum and Mischa Coster today I found out how to link Twitter to Linkedin. The blog was in Dutch and @ITworks suggested to translate. Hereby the translation in English:
A way to automatically send your tweets to LinkedIn as status updates.
How to link Twitter and LinkedIn:
- Sign up for Ping.fm
- Add LinkedIn as service and get ’status updates’ ON
- Sign up for twitterfeed.com
Click on ‘my feeds’ and add a new feed (‘Create new feed’) - Choose ‘Ping.fm’ feed from the menu
- You need a ping.fm ‘application key’ to send data. Click on ‘You Ping.fm Application Key’. You find the key on the ping.fm page. Click the key and copy
- Paste in twitterfeed window
- Click on 'get available methods' and choose 'status'
- Go to twitter profilepage, e.g. http://www.twitter.com/vanpopta
- Click with right mousebutton on RSS icon and copy link
- Go back to twitterfeed and paste link in field ‘RSS Feed URL’
- Change the frequency to 30 minutes and choose 5 updates
- Choose 'title only' at 'Include'
- Mark ‘Include item link’ OFF
- Leave the rest on default and click 'Create’ button
It's not realtime, once in 30 minutes is the maximum!
(c) All the credits for this hack are for Mischa Coster. I just wrote the translation and added step 7
